Alive?

Mimee » 31 October 2008 » In Ramblings » 3 Comments

I believe I am still alive. I haven’t been able to update or blog because I couldn’t force myself to. I’ve been feeling terrible, lately. Just random mood swings, I guess. I haven’t been able to draw anything decent either. It’s like I have this pseudo-permanent art block that I can’t get over. Argh.

Hur, I lost my graphing calculator. How stupid of me. I feel like I can’t do anything without it. Yes, I’m THAT lame. Being a math/science student, I shouldn’t depend so much on calculators…but I do… just like everyone else. Harharhar… My calculatoooor! DX

OK, so… today, I ended watching a horror movie. I am definitely not a fan of horror movies because they either have too much gore to be called a horror movie or they just scare the heck out of me. So, the movie I watched was Mirrors. Blargh. I must say, it was so disgusting. I just checked out the ratings for this movie. It makes me laugh.

For those who are horror movie fans, what really are you looking for?- A movie that scares the shit out of you without using much violence or one that is just plain gory and gross? I can name a few movies that are like that. (Yes, that includes Saw.) But if that is what “scares” people, well, what can I do? Personally, what do you think?

I saw a lot of kids dressed up at the mall. I could say my favorite costume was this little kid’s bee suit. It was adorably cute. I also saw some emo poseurs. ROFL. Lame. DX

Well, I’ll wrap this up for now. I am still a little paranoid about mirrors. I’ve always been a bit afraid of them. Bleh… but I’m paranoid all the time. I mean, when I finish taking a shower, I sometimes think there is a head sitting on the toilet, which faces the shower. So yeah, I kinda open the curtain, expecting a head to be there. How silly of me? Anyway. Wish me luck on drawing something decent. <3

History Project

Mimee » 22 September 2008 » In Online, School, Videos » 3 Comments

This is our History project video.
Half English, half Spanish. Subtitled. <3
I had fun drawing the light sabers and the Kamehameha frame by frame… It was a lot of work, but it was fun. We also forgot to add a few more credits. Ack.

History is the only class where we can really express ourselves, in my opinion. The rest of the teachers expect us to be formal, serious and… stuck to the rules? It’s not good for developing creative minds. Ah, I’m rambling again.

Enjoy. <3

I was surfing the other day and found two websites worth bookmarking, in my opinion. That is, if you are a Nintendo freak and craft lover.

Nintendo Papercraft
Geek Crafts

I am such a geek. :’D

An Update With Photos

Mimee » 15 September 2008 » In Art, Photos » 2 Comments

I haven’t updated in a while. Mainly it’s because there’s nothing to blog about. I have been drawing though. I draw nearly every day now, though I don’t show everyone my doodles and scribbles of naked people and malformed hands and feet. I’ve been painting as well. I’m two weeks into oil painting and this is what I’ve got so far.

Oil Painting

It may not seem that professional, but I’m learning. Perhaps one day, I may paint like the masters at ConceptArt.org; wishing to be like DaVinci or Rembrandt is purely a dream- an unreachable goal at the moment. Ahahaha…

Most Saturdays, I have to be at school from 8:00a.m. to 12:30p.m. to teach math to a group of adults who didn’t have the chance to study when they were younger. This is required for me to graduate. It’s not that bad though. I actually like teaching second grade math to these people. Their interest in learning makes me try my best to help them learn. This is a picture of my class. There are around 18 people (total) in my class, but not all of them come to school for some reason.

And finally, for fun, here’s my little cousin Jacky, who likes hitting and kicking people. Very friendly, don’t you think?

I have received Sarah Rayne’s The Death Chamber from Amanda today. I’m glad it got here safely. 8D

Oils Starting Next Week

Mimee » 28 August 2008 » In Art, Online » 1 Comment

I had my fourth art class today. Despite getting pissed off my a classmate, everything went well. My teacher told me I could start oil painting next week, so I’m getting an easel and lots of new stuff. Oh, I can’t wait! I’m so very excited.

I am supposed to think of something to paint and show it to the teacher. I was thinking about doing some fan art, or perhaps a flower or seascape. I’m not sure, there are so many choices, and I am very indecisive.

I couldn’t scan what I did today. I apologize to anyone who wanted to see what I drew today.

Oh! This morning, I was checking my email and I found out that I won this competition. I’m so thrilled, and I just can’t wait until I get my hands on that book. <3<3

Art Class #3

Mimee » 21 August 2008 » In Art » 2 Comments

I can’t believe it has been three weeks since I’ve started taking art classes. I feel kind of guilty though, because I don’t even know my teacher’s name yet. Ack, I should probably ask her next class, before it gets even later. Ahaha… I hope I remember too. She sent me a lot of homework today; it mostly has to do with drawing heads, hands, and feet. It’s fun though.

I did this a moment ago.

Yah, it’s Slash. I just pulled an image out of Google’s image search and used it as a reference. DX

It’s a crappy webcam shot, but it actually looks better here than in real life. Hah. Now that’s a big change. Ah… I feel like playing Guitar Hero again…

Maus

Mimee » 19 August 2008 » In School » 1 Comment

My classmates decided to make their parents talk to the administration about the failing grades that were given on the Literature exam. They gave in and accepted our original grades but we wouldn’t get credit for that question, which was worth ten points, so instead of a 94, I will get an 84. I’m OK with it, at least it’s better than a 10.

We are nearly finishing One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey. After that, there is a slight chance that we will read Maus by Art Spiegelman. It’s quite exciting and it sounds fun too, since it would be the first time we would read be required to read a graphic novel for our Literature class. It’s basically a memoir of the Holocaust, and its characters are anthropomorphic animals (It will so bring back memories about the time I was reading Animal Farm).

I am thinking about checking the bookstores here to see if they have the graphic novel. I will get my hands on it even if we don’t end up reading it for our Literature class.
